Intimate concerts are returning to the Patio de la Fuente at Tomares Town Hall. The “Hacienda Sonora: Conciertos Mínimos” series opens on Saturday 3 October at 8 pm with a gala celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Coral Polifónica Tomares.

The star of the evening will be Tatiana Postnikova, solo pianist with the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla since its founding in 1991. She will perform alongside Yuri Managadze (violin), Vicent Morelló (flute) and Duarte Maia (clarinet).

A repertoire from Chopin to Falla

The programme explores works by Chopin, Kreisler, Rachmaninoff, Skriabin, Ravel, Granados, Gershwin, Schmitt and Falla, from Chopin’s Bolero, Op. 19, to the Spanish dance from La vida breve, in Kreisler’s arrangement for violin and piano.

Born in Moscow, Postnikova trained in her home city and has given recitals in Russia, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy and Argentina. She has also worked as a répétiteur with the Teatro de la Maestranza.

Four Thursdays of music

The series continues throughout October:

  • Thursday 8: Carmesí Guitar Dúo, with “Ecos de Falla”, marking the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
  • Thursday 15: Magda Navarrete, with “Sefardí Project”, Sephardic music with roots in medieval Spain.
  • Thursday 22: Canela & Clavo, with “Músicas del Mundo”, a fusion of Persian tradition, flamenco and Latin American heritage.

Each concert costs 5 euros, and a pass for all four costs 15 euros. Tickets are sold at tomaresticket.com and at the Auditorio Rafael de León box office. Capacity is limited.
