Guillena’s Pilar neighbourhood now has dates for the festivities honouring its patron saint. The Romería del Gergal will take place on Sunday 11 October, and the day before, Saturday 10, plaza 1º de Mayo will host a neighbourhood gathering.

The poster was presented in the council chamber, attended by deputy mayor Toñi Hernández and Festivities councillor Ana Isabel Montero. The event is organised by the Pilar Neighbourhood Residents’ Association, with support from the council.

A Saturday together

This year the association is not organising the evening celebration on the weekend before the pilgrimage. Instead, on Saturday 10 October, from 7 pm, there will be activities in plaza 1º de Mayo: children’s entertainment with Ludokids and musical performances by Media Luna, Palodú and DJ Jesús González.

On the way to El Gergal

On Sunday, the pilgrimage will leave the fairground at 10 am. It will pass the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Granada and the chapel of La Esperanza before reaching El Gergal park, where the day’s celebrations will be held.
