Tomares’ Rotonda de la Luz, on Avenida del Aljarafe opposite La Cartuja shopping centre, will become Glorieta de la Hispanidad. The Town Council will give it its new name on Monday 12 October, National Day and the feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, at an official ceremony at 9 am.
Mayor José María Soriano will preside, accompanied by his governing team. The ceremony is open to all residents who wish to attend.
Alongside the name change, there will be a tribute to the Spanish flag: the flag at the roundabout will be raised and the ceremony will end with the national anthem.
