Supera, Guillena’s municipal programme supporting children and young people with disabilities, began the 2026–27 year on Wednesday 1 October with 35 students. Social Welfare councillor Toñi Hernández joined the morning group on its first day.
The programme, organised by the Social Welfare department, offers speech therapy, physiotherapy, educational support and cognitive stimulation. Younger children attend in the afternoon and receive individual attention.
Radio and music for young people
The young people attending in the morning also have a social skills workshop that includes taking part once a month in Onda Guillena Radio’s magazine programme Guillena al día. The first programme will be on Tuesday 20 October at 11 am.
A new addition this year, thanks to collaboration with the Municipal Music School, is two weekly sessions of music therapy and physical stimulation through music.
Almost twenty years of work
Supera has been running since 2006 and has supported people with disabilities in the municipality using council resources throughout that time. It is based in the Edificio Supera on calle Dr. Fleming, and registration remains open throughout the year. More information is available at the building itself and at the Municipal Social Services Centre.
